Each pair of VAER sneakers is crafted from discarded textiles collected across Northern Europe — pre-loved denim from non-profit organizations, deadstock workwear, and hotel tablecloths. The materials are sorted and cut in Portugal to maximize yield and preserve original features like seams and pocket structures. Assembly happens in a family-owned factory near Porto, where workers are paid above minimum wage with fair hours and permanent contracts. When the sneakers reach end of life, they can be returned through VAER's Take-Back Program to be shredded and molded into new soles.
